Description
This is a 100% complete and ALL ORIGINALÂ WWII Japanese Type 95 NCO Sword Shin Gunto with all Matching and visible Serial Numbers. This sword is one of the better known examples and is in exceptional condition. Without any dings or heavy scratching in the blade or scabbard, this piece is in unbelievable condition. All paint and finish is still intact with minor wear and flaws. This sword dates to World War II as a Non-Comissioned Officer's sword and on occasion was presented to other Japanese leaders as well. The scabbard shows marks that would be expected with it being strapped on and worn as is the handle slightly smoothed over from being handled. This is fantastic as it shows that this sword was indeed comissioned and was taken care of to the degree that it survives in this condition today! This sword is most likely a G.I. bringback and is unbelievable. Even the original silk tassle is still intact. The sword is not flawless, the handguard shows a little moving room, but is firm and the blade is tight as can be without any wiggling at all. The catch from the handle locks up nice and tight with the sheath and is smooth as butter! Sheath finish is about 95% with little to no steal showing through and slight marking in the paint. Handle finish is relatively similar, both fantastic for a sword of this type and age! Pictures are a great part of this description, so please comb them over well to get the best idea possible.
