This tripod weighs quite a bit - around 60 pounds or so.  The tripod was made and sold by the CAMERA EQUIPMENT CO. INC. of 343 W. 43rd Street, NYC - as shown in the accompanying photos.  This is the actual tripods use by the movie production industry on the East Coast and in Hollywood in the 1940's - to support the huge and heavy 35mm Sound Auricon and Sound Arriflex motion picture cameras with the big 'Mickey Mouse' ears, which today, make their way to the market on occasion.   If you have one of those cameras, but need a tripod to better display it - here is your chance to acquire one.
The tripod had weighs A LOT!  Over-all, stretched out this tripod tripod top to the bottom metal tips of the feet is about 74" - and the legs alone are 65" stretched to their fullest.
This tripod is basically the same exact manufactured tripod distributed by Mitchell of West Hollywood back in the day - which reveals that this tripod was manufactured by Mitchell for the Camera Equipment Co. Inc. of NYC for distribution on the East Coast. The bubble level configurations are identical, and the wooden leg 'spinner' hold downs are identical, etc.
Wear consistent with age and use. No cracks or chips to the extendable wood legs.  Tripod head swings and tilts smoothly.   Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
