    A Japanese Type 30 Bayonet with Scabbard
    The Type 30 bayonet fit the 6.5mm Type 30 rifle, and later rifles: 6.5mm Type 38 rifle, 6.5mm Type I Carcano Rifle, and 7.7mm Type 99 rifle.
    The scabbard is steel with only traces of black paint remaining.
    The blade has been sharpened, long ago based on the aging of the metal.  The blade is straight and everything is secure.  The grips are solid.
    "PEREZ" carved his name on the left grip panel.  Perhaps a G.I. who brought this home from the war?  Unfortunately his connection to the piece has been lost.
    The overall length is 20 inches.
    The pommel is serial numbered.
    The scabbard has a small dent on the front about 2-1/2" up from the wartime production cylindrical-type tip.
