    Description

Your SP10 MK2 likely needs this part.       This listing is for the thrust cap only.
Replace and upgrade the main spindle bearing thrust bearing cap on your Technics SP10 MK2.       This is an exact replacement for the original plastic cap that easily installs in minutes.
The original thrust pad cap for the SP10 MK2 was made from Nylatron, a soft engineering plastic, and if your deck has seen hardly any run time at all, probably looks like the worn out cap in the photo shown above.  This cap is a friction fit on the thrust end of the main bearing.   A worn thrust pad will measurably affect speed stability, and Wow & Flutter.
This new pad is made from bearing grade Torlon, T4301, one of the most advanced engineering plastics currently available.  Though it is technically plastic,  it is closer to 'soft metal' than the 'Nylatron' used for the original Technics thrust pad.  The engineering specs for Torlon show it to have a high compressive strength and a very low coefficient of friction.  It is durable and very hard wearing, much better than the original thrust pad.
Torlon has seen use in a number of very high end turntable bearings.  We have been using it, and testing it in various turntable bearing, thrust pad/ bearing,  and bushing applications for the past couple of years,   and are quite pleased with it as an engineering material.
