    Description

VINTAGE SCOTT TURNTABLE MODEL no. PS-87 JAPAN serial #T7014006 FC. (see pics for voltage data)
sold for PARTS/REPAIR. functions but needs small fixes ! SOLD AS IS. this used turntable functions and plays/sounds great, but has 2 quirks that need attention. while playing in 33 rpm it has an electrical glitch which switches setting to 45 rpm randomly and not all the time. if you turn on and off seems to go away, but i've been told it needs to be opened up and the switch mechanism controlling speed probably needs to be cleaned. the other problem is at times and seemingly only during very dry weather a loud static pop will discharge directly into the amplified wiring possible through needle itself. it creates a loud static pop that is being amplified, but sometimes it doesn't do this for months on end, then if weather changes, it happens. not sure about the issue here, grounding problem etc? it does seem the two fixes are very minor for someone who knows what they're doing with these. the clear top lid has a lot of scratches and wear but works well. the lavender colored cartridge states "empire" at front but i have no info on that other than that it works and sounds good.  return feature and lifting mechanism of tone arm all function well. BUY ONLY IF INTERESTED IN FIXING THE TWO ISSUES. other than those, its a great vintage turntable probably circa '80s. domestic usa shipping via USPS only. will ship well protected in padded box. no returns.
Paypal only please. Ships in safe cardboard.
Domestic Shipping Rates for media mail are USD for first record and for each extra. Priority Mail for first record and for each extra.
Vinyl grading is usually based on the Goldmine standard and is as follows:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect, or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
VG+ - There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
VG - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise, still plays great.
Good - In the record world, "Good" is not good! From here on down, we're talking about beat-up records!
