Vintage Sharp VHS HQ CCD Camcorder VC-C20UA - tested - works sometimes

As found used Sharp camcorder. I powered it up using the AC adapter. Battery will not take a charge. I did get it to record yesterday. I have left that VHS tape in the camcorder. Playback will work and what I recorded can be seen in the viewfinder. ((
last picture is a crummy picture of what the playback looks like through the tiny viewmaster. It's a recording of the owner's manual which is sideways with the AC adapter on top of it
)) Today it's NOT recording for me. When I hit the "REC" button, the "PAUSE/STILL" button also lights up. I can't get it to unpause and record. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. So I'm selling this as NON WORKING. Hoping new owner can get it to work consistently.
Power focus was working fine. Only accessory that is missing is the shoulder strap. When removed from the camcorder, a crack can be seen on the viewfinder. Pen is pointing to it. It mounts up to camcorder fine. I only found the crack after removing it to see how everything would pack up and ship safely.
